Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Chartered Geotechnical Engineer or a Civil Engineer with geotechnical experience, to take technical responsibility for the delivery of geotechnical projects, while reporting directly to senior management. The role would ideally suit an experienced Geotechnical or Civil Engineer, operating at a senior or principal level, capable of taking responsibility for geotechnical assessments and design, and aspiring to develop professionally.

Qualifications/Experience

  • Hold a Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Geology, Geophysics, or Civil Engineering with a geotechnical specialism (or a related discipline)
  • Have a minimum of 7 years’ relevant geotechnical design experience
  • Have seismic/earthquake design experience
  • Be a Chartered member of an appropriate professional institution
  • Have experience in the specification, management and supervision of ground investigations, including the interpretation of factual data to develop ground models and geotechnical site characterisation
  • Have experience in geotechnical analysis and numerical modelling, with associated interpretation and reporting
  • Have experience in the design of geotechnical structures including foundations and retaining walls
  • Have experience in slope stability assessment, slope stabilisation measures, and rockfall assessment, hazard analysis, and protection measures
  • Have an excellent knowledge of Eurocodes and British Standards
  • Hold EU or UK citizenship (or the ability to work within Gibraltar without a visa)
